Guy Thompson is a seasoned finance professional with nearly two decades of experience in credit risk management and accounts receivable processes, primarily in the chemical and industrial sectors. Since January 2022, he has served as the Head of Global Credit Risk at Sun Chemical, based near Frankfurt, Germany, where he oversees global credit risk strategies. His extensive tenure at Sun Chemical, which began in October 2005, includes roles such as Credit Risk Manager for EMEA and China, and responsibilities as a global process owner for collections and credit risk management. He was also a key member of the SAP implementation team and led the European SAP Project Aurora for global treasury management.
Before joining Sun Chemical, Thompson worked at Impress Group BV for over three years, where he held positions including Payables Process Manager and Division Controller. He also briefly served as Director of Finance at Schaeff Terex GmbH in 2002. Thompson holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business from Canterbury Christ Church University, completed in 2010. He also has academic credentials in Accounting, Law, and Economics from The University of Manchester.
